RE: A wild menu appears! (status update)
Ahh, fair enough. I think Aaron may want me to just use the music that currently plays while paused, but I dunno.

music that is activated when you press escape to put it on the menu and all the problem is solved

The pause music WOULD be pretty fitting for a main menu...

Forever vigilent.

Or I could make a parody menu with ridiculous music and headbanging stick people...

Maybe I should just stick to the pause menu music.

Wouldn't be too hard to do... Tongue

Maybe I'll talk to Aaron about that kind of stuff later. For now, though, I think it's best to be serious about moving forward. It doesn't really help that I'm still getting familiar with the code. Big Grin

How exactly are the maps saved? I'd like to mess around with the save files, perhaps make some interesting programs. I haven't really made any programs that mess with save files yet, but I've wanted to for a long while. Could you post all the info I would need? (if you don't want to keep it secret of course.)

I think it's best if I leave that one up to Aaron. I may be helping, but it's still not really my game, so I don't think I should be posting info like that unless Aaron approves of it.

I don't think it will be great to mess with the terrain just yet as there are will be many updates with optimizations etc. It will probably be best to save yourself the pain and wait until it becomes stable(or at least aaronfinishes this update).

That too. I know that right now the world saves aren't the same format that Aaron was planning on doing (I think). At the very least, he may find a better/more efficient way to save the data, so perhaps it would be smarter to wait until the save type actually sticks for a bit.
